Colette & Ian

Colette and her son Ian are so funny together. Ian has a shy, yet hilarious, personality. You can tell he loves spending time with his mom but isn't quick to admit it. I guess that's typical for any kid his age! He still managed to have a good time during our shoot and wanted to see if we could cross the creek and climb all over fallen trees. Boys are just too fun and adventurous. I love it!

Check out the beauty of this family. I think Ian and Colette will make you smile.

Ian being very GQ.

Favvvvvv photo!

Ian, you know you love hugging your mom!

There's just something about this photo that I love.

The "cool" pose.

And the not so cool pose. Ian's face is priceless!

Engaged: Emily & Ed

It's Emily's 21st birthday, she's surrounded by friends celebrating with her when a guy she's never met before walks up the stairs. Their eyes meet and instantly there's a connection between them. Now they're getting ready for a wedding, laughing with each other, have two dogs and are completely in love.

We had a blast with Emily and Ed and somehow got super lucky having a somewhat warm November day. Have I mentioned before that we love couples that laugh together? These two laugh so easily that it had us cracking up! We can't wait for May!

Meet Emily and Ed...standing in front of their wedding date.

Can't you just tell that they're into each other?

Smooching.

Emily looks at Ed and just smiles. It's adorable.

Ed fake giggling which sent us all into laughter!

Love, love, love this moment.

Hello hot kiss!

Thanks for a super fun afternoon you two!

New Orleans

In November I went to New Orleans for PartnerCon, a conference for photographers. It was so much fun to be back in New Orleans and I loooove the food there! If I lived there I think I'd be eating out all of the time. I roomed with two other Indy area photographers, Megan and Kiera, and we a had blast. It's always fun to have a bit of girl time.

At the last minute I had the chance to join in Joe Buissink's workshop. He's one of those down-to-earth photographers that is so willing to share his knowledge with others. It was refreshing and an awesome reminder of how we're capturing moments with our cameras. Being on the streets of New Orleans was just as inspiring in itself. Here are some of the photos I grabbed during our walk with Joe and our beautiful model.

Joe making everyone laugh.

For all my brides who always say they are nervous for their photos, imagine this many photographers!

Expecting: Jami, Carl & Emma

Walking into Jami, Carl and Emma's home the first thing you see is the amazing bright colored wall in the playroom. Emma stands in the middle with a shy grin, runs to her mom and wraps her arms around her mom's legs. Jami and Carl snuggle on the couch and Emma can't stay away from them. She wants to be right in the center of their snuggles and you can feel the closeness of this family.

I love seeing a family getting ready for a new addition. Emma seems to be very excited to be a big sister and I have a feeling she'll be a wonderful little helper. Jami mentioned how she can't wait to watch Emma and the new baby bond. I'm excited to see that too when I come back for newborn photos!

Time to see the beauty of this family...starting with Jami's belly!

Carl and Jami snuggling up on the couch.

I love this photo of Emma and her mom's baby belly.

Such a fun family!

Emma showing off her belly.

This photo just makes me laugh.

More belly love.

Emma taking my photo! Her camera said "you're beautiful" when it took a photo.

Carl made this bench for Jami. How cool is that?

One last belly shot. I can't wait to meet the new baby!

Tyler Bender Band in Concert

Several weeks ago the Tyler Bender Band competed in the Battle of the Bands. They should have won, just our non-biased opinion of course. They put on a great show and it's just so cool to see friends living out their passion. Not to mention that they all have inspired Zane to keep playing his drums. Pat and I had a blast running around taking photos during their show. A lady I was leaning over at the concert said, "These guys must be famous if they have two photographers."

If you haven't checked out their music you need to go do that now! Here they are in concert.
