Zane's Birthday Carnival

I have a confession to make. I am horrible at taking photos at my own children's birthday parties. I'm in host mode and even though I usually have the camera nearby it will suddenly hit me that I haven't taken any photos. So I spent all kinds of time on some decorations and barely have a photo of them, let alone barely have a photo of the kids and Zane playing all of the carnival games! At least I grabbed a few I guess.
It's a tradition in Pat's family to have a carnival for fifth birthdays. It started when Pat's mom was five and has continued on in the family. Pat's mom was soooo helpful in coming up with the games and coordinating them. We had fancy elephant ears, mini funnel cakes, smoothies, cupcakes in cones and popcorn to snack on. (I'm hoping my mom grabbed photos of this stuff!) Each game had prizes after playing them which all of Zane's friends were thrilled to have in their goody bags. We had some of the Merge high school students come help work the games and they were a blast!
Pat's mom explaining the games to everyone.

Playing the penny pitch.

Zane gets so embarrassed by people singing happy birthday to him.

Bean Bag Toss.

The fishing game. Their fishing poles would come up with a prize on them.

Somehow our house fit a ton of people.

Mini golf.

Lindsey stopped by to say hi to Zane and he was beyond thrilled to see her.
