really?

I'm not so much loving this tantrum stage from our dear son! Then I get this update thingy today on email about my 18-month old and here's what they have to say about those lovely moments:

"Is your child a little ray of sunshine at daycare but a thundercloud when you show up on the scene? Try not to get upset by these end-of-day meltdowns. They're signs of true love: Your toddler knows that it's safe to let out all of his pent-up feelings around you"

Great! Fab-U-lous! Why do I have the feeling it's this way through the teenage years too? Parents...why didn't you worn me?

Just kidding! But it feels a little weird during a tantrum to think positive about the fact that he can let out his pent up feelings. Because hey I want to scream and kick and cry sometimes, but I can't. Or maybe I should just join him! :)

Senior: Ellie

Ellie is so sweet! She had the the coolest outfits (I need to go shopping with her)!!! Ellie is a soccer player at her school so she keeps super busy. We headed to an area neighborhood and found some really cool places to take photos.

Ellie is going places for sure! She's got such a bright personality and you can tell just by talking to her that she's determined to make a difference.

Enjoy your sneak peak Ellie...

Check out this outfit! It rocks!!!

Ellie's sassy look!

Ellie seemed like she was getting a little tired so I had her jump! And jump she did!

I love how Ellie's standing in this photo. There's just something about it that's so cute and cool at the same time.

One of my favorites!

A more serious Ellie...

And a smiling Ellie!

Ellie's mom came along for her photo shoot. Her mom kept telling her to move around and these turned out great from that advice.

There's something so sweet about how Ellie is looking off to the side here. Isn't she so gorgeous?!!!

We just kept finding more and more places to take photos!

Ellie has those cool eyes that seem to change color with the color of shirt she has on! Beautiful!

Ellie plays soccer at her high school. So instead of the whole soccer uniform she opted for just the jacket.

Thanks Ellie for a good time! You were a true sport in the heat!

Monday Night is Over!

Last night was one of those nights that reminds me why some of our friends say Pat and I live in a cartoon! They say that things like that just don't happen to people, except us.

I pick Zane up from our friend's Chrissy & Jimmy and have to wake him up from his nap to take him home. While I chat he plays with their cool train set and of course cries when I have to pull him away from it to go home. And the crying never stopped!!! It was full out tantrum time once we got home and as I made dinner he got time out after time out as he screamed and threw things. He was so upset he kept choking because he wasn't taking the time to breath!

Finally dinner is made and I get him to start eating. Something upset him again, I don't know what, and he lost it. A few seconds into the crying and he pukes, all over me because I was trying to get him to calm down. I try to catch it and he pukes again! In order to not get it all over him I set him down, he loses it even more, and I try to wipe my hands off so I can wipe him off. After he finally takes yogurt down I decide he needs a bath because he smells of throw up. Mind you, I still have my clothes on that reek of puke!

I get him stripped down and he's waiting as I run the water. He's acting weird and I turn around to see him peeing on the bathroom floor!!! He moves a bit and pees some more and then as I say no he runs to the rug and starts peeing on it! I swoop him up and put him in the tub (at this point I could care less if the water's warm!). As I'm doing that our dog, Truman, runs in and starts licking up the pee! GROSS!!!!! I yell at him and slam the door in his face so he gets out. I run to the laundry room to get a towel to start cleaning up the pee and I hear the garage door open. I open up our door and yell to Pat...get in here now! I send him into the bathroom so I can change clothes.

Whew what a night! Zane did calm down and ended the evening being super sweet with snuggling under a blanket with Pat and I and reading books. I don't know what his deal is! I think he's working on some teeth and he is horrible at that whole process.

All I could do last night was laugh when I was talking to Pat about it. Gotta love motherhood!

Grandma L

No worries! We're still here! Just took a bit of a break after our launch of this site but here we are again!

How sweet are these photos? This is Zane's Grandma L hanging out with him on the boat at the lake. Zane is so blessed to have such amazing grandparents on both sides. They both spoil him and send him home with new toys too much! Each one of them has their own way of showing their love towards Zane and it's the coolest thing to watch our parents in this new light. Grandma L always is giving Zane a kiss on the top of his head and it is the sweetest to watch.

Of course this means we'll have to show some photos of Zane helping Grandpa L drive the boat. Coming soon!

In the meantime head over to Mother May I for other Best Shots this week!

Senior: Lee

Lee is one of my Senior High girls in my group. I volunteer with high school students at my church and love it! They are so inspiring!

I've known her since she was a freshman and my how she's grown into such a young woman! She is just gorgeous and so much fun to be around. I met her at her house and we found all kinds of places to take photos. It's so peaceful out in the country where she lives!

Lee I can't wait to see how your future plays out! I know you'll do wonderful things!

Meet Lee...

I love these shoots of Lee! I must have said something funny...who knows!

These two shots rock!!! Lee said she didn't know how to "pose" for the camera! I think she was wrong!

We headed to a nearby road with a white fence because that says country all over it! We kept hearing something and eventually the guy that owned the property drove by on his tracker and waved. He didn't tell us to leave...whew because we got some good shots.

Beautiful!!!

This is Lee's rabbit Willy.

Perfect sunset for this shot!

Here's Lee and her boyfriend Brent. Cheerleader and football player...go Sheridan!

More laughing shots! This time it was from some creepy old guy who hollered at her driving by. Thanks! It made her laugh!

Another shot I LOVE!

Hairdo change! Senior photos are all about making sure you have all kinds of outfits and hairstyles!

Love the Sheridan bricks behind Lee.
